HRW: UN Security Council Needs to Renew Syria Aid Lifeline

Human Rights Watch is pleased to invite you to a virtual news conference at 11:00 a.m. EDT on Thursday, June 10, 2021, on the importance of the UN Security Council maintaining the Syria cross-border aid mechanism. With the July 10 deadline for its renewal fast approaching, HRW will be launching a new report on the humanitarian situation in Syria, with a special focus on the importance of reauthorizing and expanding the cross-border aid mechanism. Failure to do so would have a severe negative impact on the lives of millions of Syrians in need of aid, including Covid-19 vaccines and other vital medical assistance.
