Ulrike Howe is a New York-based business journalist focusing on the North American fashion, retail and hospitality markets. She has been a member of the Foreign Press Association since 1987 when she first came to New York from Germany. Between 1995 and 1999 she was Editor-in-chief of Milan/Italy-based Sportswear International European Edition group before she returned to the US in 2000 as correspondent for Frankfurt-based TextilWirtschaft Magazine. Between 2017 and 2019 she also served as Managing Editor for the English language digital newsletter TheSpin, which combined top international fashion news with exclusive stories from TextilWirtschaft, which were translated into English for this purpose. She has also taught classes in fashion journalism as a guest lecturer at the Parsons School of Design. Ulrike graduated from Hochschule Niederrhein with a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.), Apparel and Textiles and entered journalism as a trainee at Deutscher Fachverlag in Frankfurt. She is fluent in German, English and Italian.
