Tom Lantos Human Rights Commission virtual briefing on 11/10/20

The Tom Lantos Human Rights Commission will host a virtual briefing on human rights in Saudi Arabia at 10 am ET Tuesday November 10th.
 
Coming ahead of the Saudi-hosted G20 Summit later this month, the briefing will feature researchers, advocates and victims of Saudi human rights abuses who will provide an up-to-date overview of the human rights situation in Saudi Arabia and offer recommendations for the incoming Congress and administration.  
Panelists include:
  • Sarah Leah Whitson, Executive Director, Democracy for the Arab World Now (DAWN)
  • Safa Al Ahmad, Acting Director, ALQST for Human Rights
  • Bethany Alhaidari, Executive Director, Saudi American Justice Project
  • Lina Al-Hathloul, sister of detained Saudi women’s rights advocate Loujain Al-Hathloul
  • Seth Binder, Advocacy Officer, Project on Middle East Democracy (POMED)
