Jeffrey P. Laner, Esq., is a New York business attorney, advising established companies, entrepreneurs, startups, small businesses, and non-profits on legal issues, business aspects and government regulation. He has been practicing law for fifteen years, ten of which were in two different billion dollar public-private institutions. Prior to law school, Jeff served as an aide to a New York City councilman, handling constituent and community affairs in the prestigious and demanding Upper East Side. He later served as that councilman's Legislative Director at City Hall, analyzing, drafting and negotiating municipal bills, and overseeing the councilman's Task Force on Technology. Jeff has been an active member of the New York State Bar Association, having served as Treasurer for four years, and then Chairman, of NYSBA's 1,600 member strong Corporate Counsel Section. For several years, he also served as a Board Member and Treasurer, of the Queens Legal Service Corporation, a not for profit of about 50 staff members, that provides free legal services to the poor. A native New Yorker, Jeff never strayed far from home, and is a graduate of Fordham University School of Law, NYU (B.A. with a double major: Politics (Honors) and History).
