Georgy Olisashvili is an international journalist based in New York City. He began his professional career as a literary critic before moving into broadcast journalism.
Since 2008, he has worked with the Russian First Channel, preparing and airing more than 2,000 television reports from dozens of countries across Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and the Americas.
He served as Head of the Channel’s Middle East Bureau, covering key developments in the region, including Israeli military operations in the Gaza Strip, the Arab Spring uprisings, armed conflicts, and political transitions in several countries. His fieldwork included coverage of revolutions, protests, and humanitarian crises under complex and high-risk conditions.
Since 2019, Olisashvili has served as Bureau Chief in the United States and Resident Correspondent at the United Nations in New York. In this capacity, he reports on American and international political, economic, and social affairs for a global audience.
